Module Review for BSP1005

BSP1005 - Managerial Economics

What is it?

I felt that I was cheated to take this module. It is a business mod and for the past few sems it's taught by Professor Gong Li. I heard that this module is more focused on concepts than math and the final exam is mostly MCQs testing on how well you know the concepts and definitions. That is the reason why I bidded for the module thinking that Gong Li will still be the professor. I heard that econs in university are unlike JC: there is a lot of math and calculation involve which I suck at it. Sadly, during my semester the professor who taught this module has been changed to Professor Yang Nan and Professor Jo Seung-gyu and hell just started for me.

Module Review for PR2202

PR2202 - Cosmetics and Perfumes

What is it?

Well, this is a fairly interesting and useful module to take, taught by Dr Perry Lim and Dr Celine Liew. Every week there is two 2 hr lectures with no tutorials. Heavy memory work so be prepared. The lectures are divided into 2 sections, one on cosmetics and one on perfumes. You learn about various chemical compounds and their functions, the principles behind making a perfume and facts about

Module Review for NM2210

NM2210 - Interactive Media Design: Theory

What is it?

This module is a mod for those who want to go the media design path. However, this module has been taken away from the syllabus and would not be offered any more (in my impression the school has split the content taught in this module into various other modules). Therefore, I guess no one else will get to take this module any more though, but I will still roughly talk about this module.

It is a non-CA module (technically it is hard to be tested) hence there is no exams at all; no finals, and not even mid-terms. Our grade is based on 50% individual project and 50% tutorial participation (crazy isn't it?). For the project, it is a curator project which requires us to imagine ourselves as a curator and include art pieces for exhibition.

Module Review for NM2209

NM2209 - Social Psychology of New Media

What is it?

It is a fairly interesting module (not as dry as NM2101), taught by Professor Zhang Wei Yu. It's about different theories again combined with how new media technology affects human behaviour. Psychology majors are recommended to take this module too. Tutorials are even more relax than NM2101, and I suggest don't do the tutorial questions

Module Review for NM2101

NM2101 - Theories of Communications and New Media

What is it?

It is a compulsory mod for all NM majors, taught by Professor Gui Kai Chong whom is not in NUS teaching stuff any more as he told us that we are his last batch of students for this module. Hence for subsequent semesters there will be a new professor teaching this module so the content and style tested may be different from what I describe here.

Basically, this module is about
